This weekend, I had the awesome privilege of attending the first annual Pigs and Figs Festival at Quivira Vineyards in Healdsburg. What a fun event that I got to share with a dear friend and favorite wine tasting buddy, Shan!
Quivira is a biodynamic winery that specializes in biodynamic farming and wine making. They also have a huge garden where they grow their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
This event was a blast and very well done! We walked through the vineyards to find a delicious fig buffet with perfect wine pairings, straight from the barrel!! All the figs came from the fig trees grown at the winery. The delicious food was prepared by the fabulous Peloton Catering!
We continued to explore the winery and all of their farms and gardens. We discovered the pig pen, chicken coop and took a stroll through the gardens where all the food prepared at the event was grown.
A small Artisanal Marketplace was set up under one of Encore’s awesome tents. The marketplace featured local vendors sampling and tasting products as well as Quivira’s own wines, olive oil and preserves.
More amazing food awaited us with a full spread buffet prepared by Peloton. They did an amazing job at creating a menu highlighting pigs and figs!
Of course, Quivira showcased a ton of their wines: our favorite was the Savignon Blank and Quest. They also served their Mourvedre and Zinfandel.
And what better way to end a meal on a hot day than with a yummy and refreshing Quivira Estate Fig Ice Cream prepared by the girls from Nimble and Finn’s!
They also had live entertainment and barrel stomping. Such an amazing day… this is definitely a MUST GO to event. We can’t wait to attend next year! However, you can always go by Quivira and enjoy their beautiful winery and gardens! Check out their website for more information!
